Safe in the hurricane

Lisé looked directly up into the eye of the hurricane while in Florida this past week. Thankfully, she is fine, but, the craziness, general disorder, lawlessness, disrespect, loss of power, inability to use credit cards, uprooting of trees, spoiling of food, shredding of billboards, lack of streetlights and closing of airports has shaken her and me from afar. It is a crying shame that when in the midst of an emergency situation people cannot obey simple common sense rules such as four way stops at non-working traffic light intersections. The dog-eat-dog world and ruthlessness of humanity surely rises up in these types of situations. So too does the love and compassion of saints, which, when seeing this a hundred years from now, will be the only saving grace! Well, that, and Lisé lived!!

In this one, you can also barely see parts of two other paintings by an artist Lisé knows.

More of the same...the Schroeder oils were commissioned by me in the early 90s and are two of the four seasons...

These photos feature Chris Schroeder's oil paintings in the background of some stylish furniture that I thought--well, if I was the manufacturer, would I want these photos in a magazine?
